"Empowering women in waste management and mining, our goal is to drive sustainability, create jobs, and promote entrepreneurial growth to transform South Africa's communities and industries".

Liberating Women Through Change
At uNotho Holdings, we are deeply committed to advocating for women empowerment, with a particular focus on creating opportunities in industries that have traditionally been male-dominated. Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, uNotho Holdings has partnered with Women in Waste South Africa (WiWSA) to empower women in the waste management and mining sectors across South Africa. Women in Waste South Africa (WiWSA) is a non-profit organization headquartered in Gauteng, focused on empowering women in the waste management and mining sectors across South Africa. WiWSA seeks to address critical issues such as unemployment, gender inequality, and environmental sustainability, while driving skills development and entrepreneurial growth in disadvantaged communities.
Founded by Makhosi Khoza, WiWSA focuses on providing women with specialized training, mentorship, and support to help them overcome barriers in the waste management and mining sectors. Makhosi’s leadership and vision aim to transform the roles of women in these industries, equipping them with the tools to become key players in South Africa’s circular economy.
Through WiWSA, uNotho Holdings and Makhosi work to address unemployment and promote community development, positioning women entrepreneurs at the forefront of innovation and sustainability. The organization collaborates with local mining and construction companies to explore novel solutions to waste management challenges, fostering environmental conservation and creating new business opportunities. WiWSA is paving the way for a future where women are not only participants but leaders in driving sustainable change, making a lasting impact on both the environment and local economies.
